Guidelines for choosing test prep materials |
If you are inclined to purchase materials from a test prep company,
other please consider the criteria:
- Is each item linked to specific Grade Level Expectation?
- Is there a code designating the Depth of Knowledge level?
- What steps were taken to ensure that the items were universally
designed?
- How were reading passages selected as being grade level
appropriate?
- How are the items scored? Is there a rubric?
- Are samples of student work provided to support the answer keys?
- If used formatively, what instructional next steps are
recommended to correspond with misunderstandings students might
present?
