Welcome to DataWorks!

DataWorks! is the Rhode Island Department of Education's website about everything related to data. RIDE believes that the use of information improves the quality of education provided to students. DataWorks! will help schools and districts look at the whole data picture.

Data Warehouse. RIDE is redesigning its data warehouse to bring together data from a variety of different sources. The new warehouse will provide clear, timely, accurate data via various platforms to specific end-users. Parents, teachers, administrators, policymakers and researchers will then be able to make informed decisions about instruction, educational programs, and policies.

InfoWorks logo

InfoWorks! This site is designed to engage parents, first and foremost. Here all Rhode Islanders have easy access to information about schools, districts, and the state as a whole. This interactive site includes information about test scores, school classifications, attendance and demographics.

SurveyWorks graphic SurveyWorks! This is a set of annual surveys of students, teachers, administrator and parents about schools. It covers teaching practices, school safety and climate, social and risk behaviors, funding and resources, and family involvement.

These regulations are designed to ensure that high quality education is available to all Rhode Island public school students regardless of where they reside or which school they attend. RIDE is developing performance measures for indicators of district capacity for all aspects of the BEP.

SLDS Connect. This is a statewide effort to connect our education systems from pre-kindergarten through higher education and into the workplace. By doing, parents, teachers, leaders, communities and policy leaders can work together to improve outcomes for all Rhode Island Students.

datahub graphic

RI DataHub. The Hub makes it easy to visualize and analyze complicated data sets gathered from multiple federal, state and local sources. Individual records are linked behind strong firewalls. These records are then combined, based on various characteristics and transferred to the HUB so users can see the larger landscape of children's well-being and conditions.

dictionary

Data Dictionary. This tool provides definitions, layouts and attributes for the various data elements that RIDE collects, stores and reports. The principle use of this meta-data repository system is to provide a consistent and reliable means of access to data.

calendar

Data Calendar. This calendar shows when all RIDE data collections and reports occur. For each collection or report, it includes due dates, a brief description, the source, who at RIDE is responsible, and links to instructions and additional information.

statistics

School & District Statistics. This application shows annual enrollment, dropout and graduation data for schools, districts and the state.
IMS logo Instructional Management System (IMS). This platform combines curriculum, assessment, instructional practice tools, and student data for educators and administrators.  The IMS will make it easier for educators to manage and share lesson planning, improve their formative assessment knowledge and skills, and have access to a guaranteed and viable curriculum.  In addition, the IMS allows educators and other professional staff to create, share, and manage academic and behavioral intervention plans for students.
computer image Educator Performance and Support System (EPSS). This platform is being developed for teachers and administrators to help manage all aspects of the RI Educator Evaluation process.
