About this training
The four day Academy for Personnel Evaluating Teachers is being offered multiple times over five weeks during the summer of 2012. The Academy will be an interactive experience that provides participants with opportunities to apply new learning and collaborate with peers in preparation for full implementation. Each day will begin promptly at 8:30AM and end by 3:30PM.

Who needs to attend this Academy?
The Academy is required for all personnel responsible for evaluating teachers (both primary and complementary evaluators) in LEAs implementing the Rhode Island Model for teachers.

What if I evaluate both teachers and building administrators?
Personnel responsible for evaluating both teachers and building administrators (e.g., a principal who evaluates teachers and an assistant principal, or a central office staff member who evaluates teachers and principals) are only required to attend the four day Summer Academy for Personnel Evaluating Teachers. On the final day of the Summer Academy for Personnel Evaluating Teachers there will be a differentiated session for participants who will also be evaluating building administrators.

About This Training

The Academy is required for all personnel responsible for evaluating building administrators in LEAs implementing the Rhode Island Model for Building Administrators, including Innovation districts.

REMINDER: Personnel responsible for evaluating both teachers and building administrators (e.g., a principal who evaluates teachers and an assistant principal, or a central office staff member who evaluates teachers and principals) are only required to attend the four day Summer Academy for Personnel Evaluating Teachers. Central office staff that are only responsible for evaluating building administrators may attend both Academies, but the Academy for Building Administrator Evaluator is required.

Registration for the Summer Academies is available on the Workshop Calendar in eRIDE.

To access the workshop calendar:

• Click here to open the calendar in a new window. (Note: Ctrl+Click to override pop-up blockers)
• Select “Educator Quality and Certification” from the dropdown at the top of the page
• Go to desired training date and click on the title of the Academy
• Click on “Register Now,” then click the green “Register” button
• Log in using an existing eRIDE account or create a workshop registration account
• Complete the registration form
