State
Education Aid
Through state aid, Rhode
Islanders
provide resources to help every school district reach the goal of
helping all
students achieve at high levels. State aid is a major contributor to all of Rhode Island's
public school system budgets. In addition to being the largest shared general education
funding stream for local school districts, it also provides monies to support
more specific goals, such as literacy education, language assistance, and the
student investment initiative (i.e., Article 31).
