Welcome to the statewide student transportation system for students attending schools outside their district. These include catholic, private and charter schools, career & technical centers and schools for students with disabilities. If you have any questions regarding eligibility for transportation to one of these schools, please refer to the tab on the left or feel free to contact TransPar, the system manager, at 401-222-5024. For instructions on how to request transportation for your school please read the following:

Private, Catholic, Charter and Career & Technical School Transportation Request

Transportation for the current school year (2011-2012):

To request transportation for the current school year please register using the online student registration form via the "Request Transportation" side bar link. Parents/Guardians will receive a phone call and a letter, if requested, with their student's bus stop assignment and pick up and drop off times. Transportation questions can be answered by the System Manager at 401-222-5024.

At this time we are processing transportation requests for the current school year only. Registration applications for the next school year will not be available until after April 1st.

General transportation deadlines/information:

Transportation requests for the Fall of each new school year must be received by July 31st and will be confirmed via a letter with your child's bus stop information. These letters will be mailed approximately 10 days prior to the beginning of each school year.

Transportation request forms submitted on or after August 1st of each year will receive a depot stop location for a temporary bus stop. Parents/Guardians will be notified of their temporary stop time and location by phone before the first day of school.

For students who receive a temporary stop assignment, permanent bus stop information will be provided by phone beginning the second week of September.

  • Pre K students are not eligible for transportation.

Students with Disabilities

Transportation requests for students with disabilities are submitted by the resident district Special Education Administrator.
