step 10 Support and Monitor Student Progress
Action with checkbox imageSupport Student in Selection of Mentor

Description

All students completing an exhibition will work with a mentor or advisor who guides and monitors student efforts toward the completion of the exhibition. Often, the mentor is an individual with some expertise in the field that a student has chosen for his/her topic. While the mentor is often a person of the student's choice, many students need some help identifying potential mentors.

Things to Consider

Some schools require documentation of fieldwork that is required for an exhibition. The student's mentor might be required to certify the number of hours a student has put in to the project. Some schools require parents to "sign off" on the student's choice of mentor.
