Description
Schools must monitor student progress at every step along the way to successful completion of an exhibition. From the selection of a topic through the final evaluation, students, parents, advisors, and mentors should be made aware of project deadlines and of the status of individual student's progress. Schools should designate those adults who will be responsible for monitoring students and devise a communications system that keeps the appropriate people apprised of student progress. Schools should develop reporting forms or find ways to include exhibition progress updates in existing reporting strategies.
Things to Consider
Early on in the process parents should be informed about project timelines. The importance of these timelines – and all associated consequences for missing deadlines – should be part of the earliest communications. Information should be communicated in a systematic and consistent manner so that adults will know when to expect such communications and when to seek the information if it has not been forthcoming.
