Once you have analyzed data gathered from the pilot review and made the necessary revisions you are ready to scale up the review process. The logistics of reviewing a small subset of graduation portfolios is very different from preparing to judge the portfolios of an entire grade. Start early to communicate with all key adults, parents, and students about deadlines, contact possible review panel members, and provide training for all members of the panels. Invite as many panel members as possible in case people are not able to attend at the last minute. Develop a schedule that provides adequate time before graduation for communication, necessary panel training, review, and final revision of student portfolios. Reserve times and locations for the reviews and make sure that the reporting process and forms are ready to use at the time of the reviews. Invite more panel members than you anticipate needing to prevent any portfolio from not being evaluated in a timely fashion.
