Technology in RI Schools

The Rhode Island Department of Education collects and reviews technology plans as they are submitted by school districts. Technology planning is a useful adjunct to a comprehensive strategic planning exercise for the district and is an essential element of E-Rate applications, state consolidated funding requests, and many competitive technology grant applications. The recommended plan development cycle is currently three years. However, as an obligation of both state Article 31 and Federal No Child Left Behind requirements, annual revisions which update the district's technology inventory, progress towards goals, and budget allocations need to submitted.

The link below is the technology plan rubric developed by the department for measuring the usefulness of district technology plans. This file can be viewed and downloaded using Adobe Acrobat or by clicking here.
