Free meals available to children in 10 R.I. communities

RIDE posts list of Summer Food Service Program sites, hours

Free meals are available to children up to age 18 at a number of Summer Food Service Program sites in 10 Rhode Island communities. The Summer Food Service Program sites are part of the national Summer Food Service Program, which the U.S. Department of Agriculture sponsors. The goal of the program is to ensure that no child goes hungry when school is out for the summer.

The R.I. Department of Education (RIDE) has posted the complete list of Summer Food Service Program sites on the RIDE website.

Rhode Islanders can also access information about summer food programs by dialing the United Way of Rhode Island information line: 2-1-1.
