Title I: Supplemental Education Services (SES)   

As part of the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001, any school that is in its second year of School Improvement or on Corrective Action shall arrange for the provision of supplemental educational services to eligible children in the school from a provider with a demonstrated record of effectiveness or a high probability of success, that is selected by the parents in cooperation with the school district of residence and approved for that purpose by the State educational agency              [Section 1116(e)(1)]. 

2008-2009 SES Technical Assistance Workshop:

A Technical Assistance Workshop will be held only for first time applicants or applicants previously approved but not on the 2007-2008 SES list. This workshop will be held on Friday, May 30 from 10:00 am to noon at the Rhode Island Department of Education, 5th floor Conference Room 501.  You must register for this workshop by calling Joe Celani at 401-222-8414 no later than May 28, 2008. The limit is two people per organization/entity.
