Intervention Districts
When schools are identified as “in need of corrective action” according to the federal No Child Left Behind regulations (NCLB), RIDE has a mandated responsibility to intervene as is presently the case with RIDE’s strong presence in four of our large urban districts. It is Progressive Support and Intervention’s intent to proactively support districts and schools in an effort to avoid the need for state corrective interventions. Such support is provided in the following efforts: school/district improvement planning; a system of school accountability visits, data collection and analysis; leadership training; and targeted internal and external assistance. In addition, PSI works to coordinate all RIDE resources and services that are provided to struggling school districts.
