Use Information for Planning and
Accountability
Information and technology are now
an integral part of everything we
do. In fact, though it can frustrate
us, we depend on it for even the
simplest of tasks– and this reliance
will only increase as we struggle to
keep up with the children who now,
in many cases, surpass us. RIDE will
work with districts to:
- Evaluate school progress and
student performance to ensure
that the vision, strategic
mission, and supporting goals
and objectives of the district
have been implemented
effectively.
- Collect, analyze, and use
data to plan instruction, to set
instructional priorities, to
allocate resources, and to be
accountable for student
performance.
- Provide professional
development and ongoing support
on interpreting and using data
to school-committee members,
parents, school staff, members
of school-improvement teams, and
other individuals or groups
responsible for school planning.
- Ensure that all
instructional staff have access
to a robust student-information
system, including a local
formative-assessment system, and
that all district educators have
sufficient skill to analyze
available data to inform their
instructional practices.
