Medicaid in the Schools

The Rhode Island Department of Education contracts with the Rhode Island Technical Assistance Project (RITAP) at Rhode Island College to provide technical assistance and training in Medicaid services. Training is available to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and public charter schools, about accessing Medicaid funds for certain services provided to students with disabilities.

Medicaid is a Federal/State program overseen federally by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) within the United States Department of Health and Human Services and administered by the Rhode Island Department of Human Services.

Information, training, resources and technical assistance may be accessed through the Medicaid in the Schools web page.
