Rhode Island Welcome Back Center

The Rhode Island Welcome Back Center at Dorcas Place provides health professionals who earned their credentials outsides of the United States with licensure/certification and language assistance necessary to enter the healthcare workforce in RI. It helps foreign-born professionals:

  • Access and evaluate their credentials;

  • Learn about the licensing or certification necessary for them to practice in RI;

  • Receive referrals or assistance with additional education;

  • Obtain information and preparation for language and licensing exams;

  • Access English language classes that include a medical terminology curriculum;

  • Network with health care employers.

The Center promotes the development of strong communities, a diverse healthcare labor force, and the elimination of health disparities in Rhode Island. It will be opening in May 2008. For more information please call Manuela Raposo at (401) 273-8866 ext. 154.
