Introduction |
Participation in the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA)
is required for those schools that will not administer
the grade 3 NECAP reading assessment in October. Because
the scores from the grade 3 NECAP reading assessments
will be attributed back to the 2nd grade, second graders
do not need to take the DRA for accountability purposes.
The following table depicts which grade level is
required to participate in the K-1 system according to
the school's configuration:

DRA Results |
Student results should be mailed home to parents by the
school. The results used by RIDE for accountability
purposes are only those at the school level. Subgroup
results are not released because most of the schools do
not meet the minimum reporting requirements allowing
RIDE to release those results.
