Rhode Island General Assembly
The Rhode Island General Assembly convenes on the
first Tuesday of January and stays in session at least 60 days
or until completion of its work. Assembly members consider over
2500 pieces of legislation during each legislative session. Of
that number, over 300 bills impacting education are reviewed and
tracked by the Department of Education.
