RI Early Learning Standards Program Portfolios
Early childhood administrators charged with leading their program’s quality improvement efforts are encouraged to develop RI Early Learning Standards Program Portfolios to document their program’s progress in implementing a Standards-based program.
Program Portfolios include program assessment information, program-level goals, quality improvement plans, and artifacts (evidence) that demonstrate program-level change.
The benefits of Program Portfolios are that they:
- help administrators to engage a full team of stakeholders in assessing the program, developing goals, and planning for change and improvement
- focus program resources on implementing a Standards-based program through systems-level change
- provide documentation of program change and improvement over time
- foster a culture of continuous quality improvement
The RI Early Learning Standards Project has designed a number of tools to support administrators and leaders as they work with their team to assess the program, determine goals, and develop quality improvement plans relating to the following
four components of a high-quality, Standards-based program:
