Description
Tasks are opportunities for students to demonstrate one or more proficiencies. In schools using graduation portfolios as one demonstration of a student's proficiencies, it is essential to review the curriculum for tasks that may be appropriate entries in this portfolio. Schools must provide students with sufficient opportunities to demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge and skills required to receive a Rhode Island high school diploma.
Things to Consider
Be sure to look at all the educational experiences provided for students including those that occur outside the classroom. Remember that existing tasks may need to be modified to meet the requirements of a graduation portfolio and that a review of tasks across the curriculum is necessary to determine the types and number of new tasks that a school will have to develop.
