Description
It is necessary to keep students, parents, teachers, and review panel members apprised of important events in the graduation portfolio schedule. More importantly, parents, support personnel, and teachers should be given periodic reports of student progress in completing the graduation portfolio.
Things to Consider
It will be easier for schools using an electronic portfolio system to generate regular reports of student progress but all schools, regardless of the type of portfolio system they use, must develop a reporting mechanism. The progress of a student's graduation portfolio may be recorded in a school's existing report card or the school may prefer to adopt another reporting tool. RINET's electronic portfolio system, which will be available to all in schools in the spring of 2006, will contain a portfolio-monitoring component.
