step 11 Pilot Exhibition Assessment Process

A pilot of the exhibition process should include implementation of all the components of a school's Exhibition system, especially those elements that are required by RIDE. Data should be collected throughout the pilot to inform the review and revision of the process before it is implemented as a School-Wide Diploma Assessment for all students. At the conclusion of the pilot year, the school staff and the design committee should take the time to review the processes and materials thoroughly and revise them if necessary.

The pilot year of an exhibition system is an important step in implementation. Taking the time to review and revise will help ensure that the system is fair, reliable, and valid. This pilot year should occur between 2005 and 2007 to allow time for a series of revisions before the system becomes "high stakes" for the class of 2008.
