Description
An annual review of the benchmarks for student work should take place. This should involve reviewing samples of student work and any data collected during the calibration process. Each year those individuals who have an integral role in the process of scoring and calibrating tasks will be able to identify elements of the task that need improvement and will suggest or make appropriate changes.
Things to Consider
As school communities become more experienced in the graduation portfolio process, and as their systems improve, it is likely that expectations for student performance for tasks will change as well. Be sure that the collection of benchmark tasks is reviewed if the benchmarks for student work change. If the benchmark tasks also change, the rubrics used to score the tasks should be reviewed and changed if needed.
