Working Definition of Terms:
Aspiring Leaders: The participant seeks to obtain
a leadership position that they have not held before and is
engaged in training to that end.
Practicing Leaders: The participant engages in training
in support of their current leadership role.
Mentoring: The program offers the opportunity for
the aspiring or practicing leader to receive ongoing support
from a colleague around leadership.
Internship: The program offers the opportunity for
the aspiring or practicing leader to participate in a reality-based
practicum in a school or district site.
People of Color: This definition includes for example,
African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asian Americans,
etc.
