Why write a lesson plan using the RI Lesson Planning Guidelines and Template?
The RI Lesson Planning Guidelines and Template will assist seasoned and novice educators in utilizing the critical components of high quality learning opportunities as they face the challenges within 21st century education. The RI Lesson Planning Guidelines and Template provide a way for refining teaching techniques and/or sharing instructional expertise with others.
The RI Lesson Planning Guidelines and Template provide a standard lesson format for all educators within our state including pre-service programs. It also assures alignment with the GLEs/GSEs.
The RI Lesson Planning Guidelines and Template support on-going professional development as teachers work individually and/or collaboratively as reflective practitioners on lesson plans at the school or district level.
Lesson plan submissions may be eligible to receive professional development credit hours toward recertification and/or I Plan goals.
Approved lesson plans
(
54KB) will be added to the RI Statewide Curriculum database and made available to educators not only in RI but also all over the world. Lesson submissions will help further support effective teaching and learning occurring throughout our state.
