ABOUT US
Waytogori.org is part of a communications program designed to inform
Rhode Islanders about our new high school diploma system. The program is funded by a grant from the National Governors
Association, and is a collaborative effort of the following state agencies:
- RIDE - The Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, led by the Commissioner of Education and under the direction of the Board of Regents for Elementary and Secondary Education, offers leadership and support to schools and communities to provide students with the education needed to achieve high levels of academic and career success and contribute to society.
- Governor's office - Governor Carcieri is committed to improving Rhode Island's education system by implementing higher standards for students and teachers, including these in high school graduation. He is targeting resources for schools and students that require additional assistance and support for programs to enhance teaching and improve student readiness for Rhode Island's higher education institutions. Through his efforts, Governor Carcieri is providing a strong foundation for students to learn and become successful adults.
- RIBGHE - The Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education works to provide Rhode Island with an accessible and affordable higher education system that is designed to improve student academic achievement levels and, ultimately, to enhance the intellectual, economic, social, and cultural life of Rhode Island, its residents, and its communities.
- RIHEAA - The Rhode Island Higher Education Assistance Authority offers financial assistance to students and their families to help them achieve their higher education goals. Its mission is to make postsecondary education accessible for Rhode Island residents who would otherwise be financially restricted from participating in the program of their choice.
- AICU - Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Rhode Island joins 39 state associations working nationwide to address the needs of, and strengthen, independent higher education. AICU is an alliance of degree-granting, accredited independent institutions of higher learning. Through partnerships, program participation, and agency outreach efforts, AICU serves as a central source of information among its member institutions. Acting as the collective voice of its eight member institutions, AICU addresses common interests and concerns of independent colleges and universities, coordinates the activities of Rhode Island's independent colleges and universities, and provides federal – and state-level policy and program leadership on higher education issues.
