Technology Planning Cycle

A technology plan passes through many
hands at the local, State and Federal
levels. Proper planning is necessary to
allow time for processing at each level
as well as ensure coverage at all times
to meet funding requirements. (Check
Tech Plan Status)
There are two main areas in the
Technology Plan cycle:
-
Plan
Creation / Approval -
Plan creation and approval
includes writing the plan,
receiving local approval,
submitting the plan to RIDE for
approval, and receiving RIDE
approval and/or guidance.
-
Plan coverage
- Plan coverage must be
no longer than THREE years in length
with coverage beginning July 1, the year
after the plan is
submitted to RIDE. This coincides with
ERATE funds beginning July 1 as a result
of Form 470 being filed the previous
September.
