Instructional Technology Vision / Goals / Assumptions

The following goals will help guide and support learning at all levels.

Connect all Rhode Island school districts offices, classrooms, and state education offices with a unified, reliable telecommunications system.

Identify and align available technology resources with state and local curricula.

Provide, through RINET, adequate access for all Rhode Island students to the Internet and to appropriate on-line learning resources.

Develop guidelines, policies, and strategies to promote effective technology-enriched learning opportunities available to all of Rhode Island's students.

Support effective, competency-based professional development to all teachers and administrators in the use of technology in support of teaching and learning addressed to high standards.

Assist all Rhode Island school districts in their development of effective technology plans that are integrated with other strategic and improvement plans.
