Directions for the LoTi Survey
Please first be sure that you are required to take the survey before proceeding.
You can check the definition of "required personnel" (and who is not required to take the survey) on this page
(check the "NOTE" bullet under " For this purpose, personnel include: ").
*** If you took the survey last year (either by creating an account or using an account created for you under this group), you should have received a reminder email relating to that account - it may have been filtered into your spam folder, so check there, too, for emails from support@lotilounge.com, subject: LoTi Reminder. The emails were sent in a batch on Monday, March 21, 2011 around 7:30pm.
*** If you took the survey last year (either by creating an account or using an account created for you under this group), but did not receive a reminder email (perhaps your email address changed), please follow the directions for taking the survey below - it will walk you through how to receive your account information.
*** If you did not take the survey last year (either by creating an account or using an account created for you under this group), please create a new account following the directions below.

4. Use your certification number as your
username.
Please note: your certification number is used for
identification purposes only to distinguish you from
over 13,000 other teachers, library media specialists,
and administrators - e.g., there may be another
JSmith1234 or SmithJ1234 in the system which would prevent you
from creating an account.
-
5. You must enter your first and
last name.
-
6. Select your grade level
and subject area.
-
7. Enter a valid email address where your account information can be sent if you forget either your username or password, or for the reminder for next year's survey. Your email address will NOT be used to send anything other than these notifications.
-
8. Click "Submit"
PLEASE NOTE: If you receive an error message that says "You must enter a unique username and password to continue," please double-check the certification number you entered for your username. If it is correct, you may already have an account that was created for you. Please see the Directions for Taking the Survey below, and use your certification number as both your username and password.
-
9. From the drop-down menu, please
select your district, then your school (or "District Level Staff" if you are a district administrator) from the second drop-down that will appear once your district has been selected. If you are at a charter school or a state-operated school, your school is listed under the corresponding "district".

-
15. The multiple-choice questions are randomized;
no two surveys will have the same order of questions.
Some questions may not quite match the answer choices at first glance
– think about the question, and it will make more sense.
Remember your answer for the frequency you see students question in
the "Demographics" section, and look to this FAQ
for an idea of how to choose an answer choice.
-
16. To log out when you are finished with the survey: Click on
the “Return to LoTi Lounge” graphic, then click
“Sign out” at the top middle of the new page.
- If you have any questions, or are having troubles with the survey, please email LoTiSurvey at RIDE.RI.GOV (remove spaces and replace at with @) with your name, certification number, school, and district, and a brief explanation and/or your question. We will try to fix it as quickly as we can, but please understand that it may not be fixed that day. Please note that you have until April 15 to take this survey.
