Office of Network and Information Systems

Technology
In the past several years ONIS has significantly upgraded its IT hardware, software, and network infrastructure to modernize. The following are some of the technologies we use here:

Technology
ONIS has purchased many new Servers over the past three years. DELL PowerEdge Servers are used to run our Applications, Windows Server 2003, Email Server, and Web Server. Many of these servers are connected to our SAN (Storage Area Network) to provide Data backup, reliability, and increased performance.
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 are the primary Database Management Systems used.
Applications developed by RIDE programmers, Contractors, and Vendors are written using the Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 and v2.0. This standardization has led to, among other things, rapid application development and a reusable common object library.
All development team members are required to use Microsoft Visual Source Safe, a code versioning application. Source Safe allows developers to work together on large scale projects.
