Rhode Island Department of Education Announces SurveyWorks 2024 Extension; Has Reached 125,000 Responses

Published on Friday, March 29, 2024

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) today announced that the deadline to complete SurveyWorks has been extended to allow students, educators, and families additional time to complete the important statewide education survey. Originally scheduled to conclude March 31, the SurveyWorks window will remain open through April 7. As of today, March 29, nearly 80,000 students, over 33,000 families and over 12,000 educators have participated in the survey, bringing the total to over 125,000 respondents.

“From shedding light on attendance barriers to guiding principals in their school climate efforts, SurveyWorks has played a vital role in shaping educational policies, programs, and initiatives in Rhode Island,” said Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green. “By gathering this extensive feedback, our schools, districts, and state will be better positioned to serve all students. We hope to see even more SurveyWorks responses with this deadline extension.”

In 2023, RIDE’s survey had the highest-ever response rates from three key audiences: administrators, educators, and families, while the student response rate returned to pre-pandemic levels.

Each week leading to the deadline, RIDE has highlighted schools with the highest response rates on social media. Students, families and educators are strongly encouraged to take the survey by April 7, 2024. Additionally, last year’s results for each district are available on RIDE’s SurveyWorks Resource Center. Anyone with questions regarding the survey can email surveyworks@ride.ri.gov.
