National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)

National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Testing Window

The NAEP assessments in reading, math, science, and other content areas are administered in even-numbered years. In odd- numbered years, the National Center of Education Statistics (NCES) asks states to administer international assessments to gather information on how students in the United States compare to students in other countries around the world. The chart below shows those international assessment assessments, studies, and NAEP assessment field tests that will be administered during this school year.

Not all schools will be selected to participate in every test. More information will be available at the beginning of the school year. Rhode Island is not expected to participate in the Long-Term Trend but it is included so you know all testing posibilties. More information on NAEP can be found at www.ride.ri.gov/naep or https://nces.ed.gov.
