Interim Assessments
RIDE has created a Master Price Agreement with four vendors for interim assessments to support LEAs in measuring student learning throughout the 2020-2021 school year.
The current pandemic conditions require flexibility in how learning takes place: at school in the classroom as well as through distance learning. As such, local education agencies (LEAs) need high quality interim assessments to support measurement of student learning progress at certain points throughout the year, as well as to diagnose learning gaps and inform teachers where students need additional supports.
To that end, this summer RIDE posted a Request for Proposals (RFP) for high quality computer-based interim assessments in ELA and mathematics. Of the vendors that responded, the following met the criteria for their assessments to be included in a Master Price Agreement (MPA) available to all public LEAs: Curriculum Associates (i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment), IXL Learning (IXL Real-Time Diagnostic), NWEA (MAP Growth), and Renaissance Learning (Star Early Literacy, Star Reading, Star Math).
In August, RIDE also released a short document about Assessment Best Practices and re-entry guidance that describes a cycle of four best practices for using
assessment to measure student learning, diagnose learning gaps and unfinished learning, and guide instructional decisions.
RIDE has developed this page to support LEAs participating in this MPA.
On October 7, RIDE held a webinar for public school districts and charter schools interested in participating in this opportunity. Download the presentation or view the recording.
To support LEAs and schools, RIDE created this Interim Assessments Guidance document which details a number of steps recommended to be implemented prior to administering interim assessments.
