Mental Health Resources in Response to COVID-19

This page contains a variety of resources for educators, mental health professionals, administrators and families to support mental health of youth and the school community. Please also see this list of Physical Health and Social and Emotional Learning Resources, as well as Resources for School Counselors.

Child Abuse

Per RI General Laws and as stated in the Rules and Regulations for School Health Programs, all school personnel are mandatory reporters of child abuse. During distance learning, districts can post the required DCYF Hotline poster on their website.

Kids Link

Families can call Kids Link, a hotline that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-855-543-5465 when their child is feeling excessive anger or sadness; lashing out at siblings, friends and adults; having severe worries; or hurting him or herself or others.
