Currently, the Rhode Island Department of Education in partnership with Farm Fresh RI and URI SNAP-Ed is implementing one technical assistance/training grant (Team Nutrition 2017-2020 Grant). This grant supports three key strategies for promoting healthier childcare environments by:

  1. Providing training and technical assistance to child nutrition professional to enable them to prepare and serve nutritious meals that appeal to children
  2. Increasing nutrition education through multiple communication channels to help children have the knowledge, skills, and motivation to make healthy food and physical activity choices as part of a healthy lifestyle
  3. Building support for healthy childcare environments that encourage nutritious food choices and physically active lifestyles
