Team Nutrition

Team Nutrition is a USDA Inititiative to support the Child Nutrition Programs through training and technical assistance for foodservice, nutrition education for children and their caregivers, and school and community support for healthy eating and physical activity.

RI SNAP - Ed

RI SNAP - Ed provides free nutrition education programs and resources (such as handouts, recipes, lesson plans and professional development opportunities) to SNAP-eligible recipients and the organizations that serve them .

Wellness Policies

Local wellness policies are an important tool for parents, local educational agencies (LEAs) and school districts in promoting student wellness, preventing and reducing childhood obesity, and providing assurance that school meal nutrition guidelines meet the minimum federal school meal standards.

Serving Up MyPlate

MyPlate is a new collection of classroom materials that helps elementary school teachers integrate nutrition education into Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Health. This yummy curriculum introduces the importance of eating from all five food groups using the MyPlate icon and a variety of hands–on activities.

Team Nutrition Resource Library

TheTeam Nutrition Resource Library contains a comprehensive listing of all the resources available through Team Nutrition to schools and child care facilities that participate in the Federal Child Nutrition Programs.

Intended audiences are: Food-service Professionals, educators, parents, child care providers and garden coordinators.
